FULL DETAILS:
CRAZEDpilot.com provides a MOTION CONTROLLED Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) available for use at McNary Field, Salem, Oregon.
If you are a student pilot, pilot working on an instrument rating, a commercial rating, practicing emergency procedures in your choice of aircraft (EVEN your choice of throttle quadrant to match your aircraft!). Additionally, maybe you want to maintain your instrument currency? CRAZEDpilot.com has you covered! According to Twin Cessna Flyer Magazine, "Regular simulator based training and preparedness on every takeoff are key to being able to handle them safely!" We have you covered!
Student pilots can apply up to 2.5 hours in our AATD motion simulator towards their Private Pilot Certificate- Instrument students may apply up to 20 hours towards their instrument rating, Commercial student pilots may apply up to 50 hours simulation time towards their Commercial or up to 25 hours towards your ATP. Finally, Instrument rated pilots may maintain their currency using the Full Motion Simulator here in Salem Oregon and can conduct the majority of their Instrument Proficiency Check in the simulator (however certain steps of the IPC must still be conducted in-aircraft).
You can even fly SOLO to practice VFR/IFR or to legally maintain your IFR currency (minimum 2 hours dual instruction with 2 full Sim startups and shutdowns required with an instructor prior to solo use). The Motion Simulator is AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY by door code for authorized instructors or pilots! Payment is automatically completed via Credit Card at the end of each flight with your instructor.

Details on AATD REGULATIONS for your reference:
§ 61.51(b)(3)(iii) & (h) Simulated instrument conditions; Logging training time
§ 61.57(c)(2) Instrument Experience (Maintaining Currency – Simulator Only).
§ 61.51(g)(5) Logging Instrument Time (NO INSTRUCTOR REQUIRED)
§ 61.57(d)(1)(ii) Instrument Proficiency Check per Instrument ACS Latest Version:
"If a person fails to meet the experience requirements of 14 CFR part 61, section 61.57(c), a pilot may only establish instrument currency through an instrument proficiency check as described in 14 CFR section 61.57(d)." ...... "an AATD may be used to complete most of the required Tasks. However, the circling approach, the landing Task, and the multiengine airplane Tasks must be accomplished in an aircraft or FFS (Level B, C, or D). A BATD cannot be used for an instrument proficiency check. See the Instrument Proficiency Check table in Appendix 5: Practical Test Roles, Responsibilities, and Outcomes for additional information."
§ 61.65(i) & (j) Instrument Rating: Up to 20 Hours in Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD)
§ 61.109(k)(1) Private Pilot Certificate: Up to 2.5 Hours (authorized via the LOA, see below link)
§ 61.129(i)(1)(i) Commercial Certificate: Up to 50 Hours
§ 61.159(a)(4)(i) Airline Transport Pilot Certificate: Up to 25 Hours
Specifics on how to LOG TIME IN THE SIM:
In the “N” number column, record the type of simulator, in this case “PFC CRX-MAX/AATD”. This lets a DPE/Examiner know the type and level of the simulator and its eligibility for time towards a certificate, rating or instrument experience (currency). It’s also a good idea to provide a copy of the manufacturer's FAA Letter of Approval (LOA) to clients working towards a certificate or rating to show to the DPE/Examiner.
In the “Type” column, note the actual aircraft flown in the simulator. This is required information as some DPE/Examiners only allow multi-engine AATD time to count towards a commercial ticket if flying in a multiengine aircraft.
In the “To” and “From” columns, note the airports used (visited) in the simulator.
The “SEL”, “MEL”, “Day/Night” and “Cross-Country” columns should be left blank. These columns are designated for actual aircraft flight. Similarly, do not log “Landings” (i.e. 90-day day/night landing currency cannot be performed in a PCATD/BATD/AATD)
In the “Approach” column, log the number of approaches performed in the simulator. The criteria for an approach is the same as in an aircraft, i.e. passing the FAF in IMC and breaking out at or above DA/MDA with subsequent landing or executing a missed approach.
In the "Actual IMC" column, no time is logged (this column reserved for REAL WORLD IMC only). In simulated IMC (used for hood time or IMC in our AATD), log the time you flew in simulator IMC conditions. For example, in a 1.8 hour simulator session, it is typical to log about 1.5 simulated IMC.
In the “FTD” or “Flight Simulator” column, log the total time in the simulator.
In “PIC” and “Total Flight” columns, log all applicable simulator time as this shows the "pilot experience” time. A DPE/Examiner can see the time in SEL/MEL for actual aircraft time and PCATD/BATD/AATD time for simulator time. The combination of both is the pilot experience.
In the “Dual” column, log all of the time the instructor is present. If an Instrument/ATP rated pilot is flying solo to meet their instrument experience (currency) requirements, then no dual time is logged.
We are required to disclose The Letter of Authorization (LOA) for our Precision Flight Controls PFC Max Motion Flight Simulator from the FAA. It can be found at this link by clicking here: Precision Flight Controls CRX Max LOA
